In 2013 Jacoby Solar Consulting (JSC) designed and constructed six 20-foot long shipping containers to provide backup power for various structures in remote parts of Texas. Each container houses two SMA Sunny Island split-phase-configured clusters accompanied by Midnite Solar`s SI enclosures.

The containers are pre-assembled and pre-wired in JSC`s warehouse, and then shipped to site where they are placed on a slab alongside a backup generator. Each container is connected to a 20-kW ground-mounted PV array.
